In October, additional bans on heavy goods vehicles are in force in several European countries. Check where the restrictions have been introduced.
7 and 8 October (Wednesday and Thursday)
Croatia
The ban covers vehicles and vehicle sets with gross vehicle weight (hereinafter GVW) exceeding 7.5 t as well as trucks and sets exceeding 14 m in length. On Wednesday, the restrictions apply from 15 to 23, and on Thursday from 14 to 23.
22 and 23 October (Thursday and Friday)
Hungary
In this country, the ban applies to heavy goods vehicles whose GVW exceeds 7.5 tones. During the ban, drivers are not allowed to drive on all roads in Hungary. The ban starts from 10 p.m. on Thursday and applies during 24 hours to 10 p.m. on Friday.
26 October (Monday)
Austria
The warning applies to tractors with trailers over 3.5 t, articulated vehicles over 7.5 t and trucks. The ban applies from 0:00 to 22.
28 October (Wednesday)
Czech Republic
In this country, the ban applies to vehicles and combinations whose GVW exceeds 7.5 t. The restrictions apply from 1 pm to 10 pm.
30 October (Friday)
Croatia
The ban begins at 15.00 and ends at 23.00.
31 October (Saturday)
Slovenia
The driving ban applies from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. During this time, all lorries or convoys with a GVW c of more than 7.5 t should be taken out from the main roads of the country.
Germany
The German regulations apply to heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 t GVW and all vehicles with trailers.
31 October is a public holiday in some federal states: Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
The ban applies from 00:00 to 22nd.
1 November (Sunday, All Saints)
Austria
The warning applies to tractors with trailers over 3.5 t, articulated vehicles over 7.5 t and trucks. The ban applies from 0:00 to 22.
Croatia
From 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
France
In this country, the ban covers lorries with a GVW of over 7.5 tones. Valid from 00:00 to 22nd.
Luxembourg
The restrictions apply to all vehicles and sets over 7.5 t from 00:00 to 21:45.
Germany
The ban applies from 0:00 to 22 in the Länder: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
The authorities of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony have allowed lorries to use the transit routes A1, A2, A30, A31 and A33. The provision allows for driving between 6 am and 11 pm and also applies on Sundays if Reformation Day or All Saints’ Day falls on that day of the week.
Slovakia
The driving ban applies to lorries of more than 7.5 tones and vehicles of more than 3.5 tones with a trailer or semi-trailer. The ban starts at 0.00 am and ends at 10 pm.
Slovenia
From 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Hungary
From 0:00 to 22:00.
Italy
The ban applies from 9 to 22 and applies to vehicles with a GVW of over 7.5 t.
